National 3 Peaks Challenge in Aid of Wishing upon a StarOn Saturday 29th May 2010 Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team at Wollaton Police Station, and local partners including the CO-OP Trowell Road Wollaton and Nottm University Samworth Academy will be taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of Wish Upon A Star, whose aim is to grant the Wishes of children suffering from a life threatening illness, from the age of 2 to 16.This is an endurance challenge taking on the 3 biggest mountains in the country within a 24hr period - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. The distance walked is around 25 miles, the height climbed is around 10,000 feet, and the distance travelled between the mountains is some 450 miles.
